We bumped into a pre-college school in Yangon, Myanmar. The students were having Philosophy lessons and discussing free will. They adopt "round-table" dialogue in teaching process as originated from ancient England. The idea puts stress on equal rights upon communication, regardless of teacher or students, which is highly admired but not yet achieved by many education systems over the world.

The general public tends to under-estimate the competitiveness and open-mindedness of Burmese people since it is only 4 years after the open and reform. The reality is opposite - their capability is comparable to students from other countries regarding language skills and critical thinking. "Freedom" is even more valuable in such a society that just flee from feudalism.
