Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, was named as "Ilha Formosa," or Beautiful Island by some Portuguese sailors over 500 years ago. It is renowned for its enchanting blend of traditional and modern culture. Apart from for its cuisine, hot springs, museums, scenery and temples, Taiwan is also famous for the warmheartedness of the locals, which is truly the country’s best attraction. In 2015, Taiwan is selected to be one of the 10 best-value holiday destinations.
Highlights

It is Taiwan’s largest collection of mining-industry relics. The rhythmic "G" written in calligraphy has two meanings: one is "Gold", Gold Museum; and the second is "Green", representing the museum's integration of cultural resources and development into a museum with life that will go on.

One of the first things a foreigner will notice when they set foot in Taiwan for the first time is the food-it’s everywhere! Famous Food: Minced pork rice (滷肉飯/魯肉飯) Beef noodle soup (牛肉麵) Salty fried chicken (鹽酥雞) Fried chicken steak (炸雞排) Small sausage in large sausage (大腸包小腸) Oyster omelet (蚵仔煎)
